Antibiotics helping, still coughing up junk and burning up at times but definitely better than it was. Hopefully should be decent enough by Christmas Eve to go out with Mum, Nan, Jean and Emily to the childrens christmas service at the church mum (and by extension, myself) are somewhat affiliated. Should be a nice family thing but bit awkward since will be my first time inside any church for years...
Yule starts tonight for me, technically later than it should but With Mums birthday on the 22nd and the 22nd being 'Mother's Night' anyways in Heathen/Anglo Saxon terms it makes sense to me to use the whole of the 22nd as a family day, then the later evening as an ancestral family night and the beginning of Yule... for me the 22nd is more meaningful so overrides common practice. For the sake of 24 hours I will keep things my way ;)
Unfortunately my Harrow/Altar had to be taken apart when I got my profiling bed, because it is larger than a normal single bed I had to lose a cabinet from my bedroom, which until then had my on top on the left and my harrow to the right. As yet I am still not entirely sure where I will put the glass candle holder I use for Yule (think this will be my third Yule using it) and the wooden bowl etc that I use with it. I still have the candle from last time I will start with and then light a new candle I bought this year. A nice scented organic vegan candle, though a little worried it could be too much for myself and mums asthma at the moment, in which case there is still enough of the not-so-nice original candle to burn.
I miss my harrow very much, although I still have some of my favourite objects on display and family photos and gifts around everything feels scattered. I miss having that centre of focus. Can't wait for setting up a new one when I move out :-)
I suppose also being of a faith that holds the full 12 nights of Yule as one of the most (if not the) most spiritual events of the year makes me less inclined to be too fussed with exact start dates. I will carry through to the start of the New Year and each night will have some degree of spiritual observance.
