American Soil

I won't lie; it's a bit of a relief to be back after the stress of the last few days. Of course, it's not over yet. I've spending tonight in JFK airport in New York, and flying back to Cincinnati in a few hours. D is spending tonight in Manchester airport, but we may cross paths in Philadelphia this afternoon if my flight is delayed. Should be back in good ol' Lancaster, OH by this evening, collecting D and my kitty along the way. I think after that, the plan is laundry and sleeping in.

There is still no work for us in Ohio, so we're trying to decide what to do. My savings is sufficient that I still don't feel compelled to travel down South for work, but D is pretty much broke. I'm thinking of taking the next week to work on housing. We've had some very encouraging noises again from the owner of that beautiful house in Dillwyn, VA (I know, I know, but I keep hoping) who now that I've said I can't buy this year seems a lot more keen on having us rent. Who knows?

Anyway, I'm going to try to find a comfortable slab of marble to stretch out on for a few hours.

travel, work, house
