Cats and Costumes

Oct 31, 2006 16:36

So I decided to go out in costume today, for lack of anything better to do. It was raining out, but my Viking costume is made of lots of warm wool, so that wasn't a problem. I got paid today, so I took myself out for lunch at the bakery I've been to a couple times before, then went across the street to the Paperback Exchange where, as soon as I knelt down by the kids books, the little calico cat *ran* to me and burrowed under my cloak and demanded that I scratch her belly. I got seven Erma Bombeck books for $11.55. She rocks. I had to restrain myself from buying a book about having children after 30. Well, I'm 28 now, and the odds that I'll have any before then are remarkably low. But I can always get books later, right?

Anyway, then I went to the mall to pick up an ethernet cable, and the guy in Radioshack asked me if there was something special going on today. *facepalm* His coworkers had a good laugh. Anyway, I now own a 25' ethernet cable, so I can use the computer anywhere in the room. Almost like wireless. Only not. I also got myself some skelly lingerie from Hot Topic because I'm an archaeology dork.

Now it's time to be a geek and finish my karaoke story.
