2012 was actually a pretty good year.
As far as employment goes things have been good. The whole year I've stayed with one job. There was a lot of turn over at work due to a variety of reasons, but mostly co-workers getting better offers somewhere else. All that was a bit disappointing since I did like all my co-workers. On the other hand at this point I'm the second most senior member of the programming team. I feel pretty good on job security at the moment.
Over the last year I also started my own home business, which I've always wanted to do. I was intending on it being more of an embroidery business with a bit of sewing, but so far my best selling product only involves sewing. I spent a lot more money than I made, but hopefully this next year I'll make a bit more than I spend.
One thing I've told myself I wanted to for quite some time was start a web comic. Over the past year I've come the closest I ever have with an in character pony art blog, though my updates have been quite lacking recently.
The biggest change for me in 2012 was becoming a father. My son was born less than a month ago at this point so I'm still adjusting to it.
