Day by day:
On the flight to Pittsburgh the in-flight movie was "Dragonball Evolution", that movie is horrible. I'd complain about never getting that hour of my life back, but I was stuck on a plane anyway. Me and
zippiner arrived in Pittsburgh in the afternoon and caught a cab from the airport to the hotel. We had a few hours to get settled before heading off to Buca Di Beppo with a big group for dinner. The walk there was a bit long, but worth it. We ended up splitting a booth with 4 other furs that we didn't know before, making friends is always a nice way to start out a con.
Thursday was a pretty relaxed day, we hung out in the zoo and got registered for the con.
On Friday we got up kinda early so I could go with
zippiner to the artists alley sign ups. There were only slightly more tables than artists so the odds were in her favor for getting in and she indeed got a table. I spent most of the day during the dealers room hours getting badges and commissions. Later that night the two of us went to Sushi Kim and sat at the sushi bar. It was
zippiner's first time eating real sushi and she loved it.
We dragged ourselves out of bed on Saturday, since we'd been up far too late the night before. Once again she got in the artists alley and I wandered around near by for most of the day. That evening we went to Sushi Kim again, this time with a larger group. Since that was the 4th of July we went up to the roof of the convention center that night to watch the fireworks. The city of Pittsburgh put on a 1/2 hour fireworks show over the river. During the fireworks some singing broke out, with classic patriotic songs like The Start Spangled Banner. I was amused when the singing later turned to America Fuck Yeah. We went back to the con and stayed up way too late.
On Sunday we decided to sleep in. We rolled out of bed and headed to breakfast around noon. Sunday went by pretty fast, mostly we just hung out in the zoo and did artwork. For dinner that day we went to the Golden Dragon Buffet. Dinner was great, and very amusing when
yiffer said "penis" a little too loud at the wrong time and got a funny look from the staff there. The zoo was very happening all Sunday night, unfortunately it closed a bit earlier than usual, but we salvaged the night by throwing together a quick room party which turned out to be a lot of fun.
Monday was a day for goodbyes. Seemed like everyone was leaving that day. The airport was full of furries. We didn't mind at all when we had the option of taking a later flight and staying at the airport longer. When we finally did get on our flight we sat right behind another fur. We didn't talk on the flight because we all passed out. At the layover in Denver though the three of us hung out and talked for a few hours. After we parted ways,
zippiner and I realized that we'd never even asked him his name. We got home with no mishaps and passed out. It was a good con.
General con stuff:
The Westin rooms had showers with two shower heads. Showering together there was great.
zippiner and I wore our Tails hats for most of the con. We were just going to do it for the first part of the con, but then it became an easy way to find us, so we had to keep wearing them. We also kept getting compliments and being asked where we got our hats.
