So I finally got to go see Alex (Levon's new baby brother) without all of his tubes and stuff. He'd been in the hospital for almost two weeks, because after they took him home, he wasn't holding down his food and it turned out he had twisted intestines. I went with Levon two weekends ago (after my grandpa's funeral) to go see him at Children's Hospital and it was sooo sad. He's such a tiny little thing and he had all of these tubes in his nose and mouth and monitors everywhere.
He was supposed to come home Friday, then Monday, but he came home two days ago because they wanted to keep an eye on him to make sure he was gaining weight. My boss was being kind of an asshole last night because we were supposed to get out early and I was all excited to see Alex. Then they sent me down to embroidery and said I had to work all night. But I busted my ass and then went to go tell him the situation and he let me go.
He's such a quiet little thing. I never saw him cry, just squeak a little bit. And he looks EXACTLY like Levon in his baby pictures (oh geez, not another one...). I got to hold him for a while and he just sort of snuggled up against me and fell asleep. Levon and I just looked at each other going, "Someday." Luckily my nesting instincts are far away from kicking in, I guess because I basically raised my brother and sister during the summers so I know how much is involved in it.
Things are going so good between me and him. It's like we've been friends so long that we know how to put up with each other. We were watching TV with his parents and that commercial came on for some furniture store saying something like "It's a big anniversary, which would she rather have, a bed or a ring?" He asked which *I'd* rather have, "because you're getting one of them." (Background note: We sleep on a bunk-bed/futon thing that my dad gave us). I was just like uhhhh...
Going ice-skating on Friday, should be a pretty sweet time. I haven't been in AGES.
Ugh, work now.
