A Tuesday worthy of a quick update....
I had another interview today up in the OC. I made a quick trip to see Helga the hot-waxer before spending some quality time with my estranged apartment. It was nice to chose shoes from the closet o'shoes rather than the limited selection found in my suitcase.
I felt going in to the interview that it was probably a waste of time, and I was more or less right. Decent job, competitive pay, more responsibility, blah blah blah.... but it's a position supporting a company they don't *technically* have a contract with yet. So, without knowing it, I interviewed for a job that really doesn't exist yet. Good thing Helga had an opening on her calendar.
I spent the afternoon running around like a moderately crazy person for a bit and got a few things accomplished. Then headed back toward Tom's, intending to stop and see/go running with recently single friend, but was just waaaay too tired. Fortunately he was understanding, and we made tentative plans to have dinner later this week. What he doesn't know is that as much as I enjoy hanging out with him, I just really want a reason to go back to the Thai place we ate at the other night. ;)
I got to Tom's and found that the most generous of code monkeys had a present waiting for me. I had intended to purchase a
Body Bug like his once gainfully employed, and he beat me to it. I'm SO SO SO VERY SUPER UBER excited!!! I know Kayla will argue, but I believe that *I* have the best boyfriend! (Maybe we can compromise and say Tom's #1 West of the Mississippi, and Casper gets the East Coast award.)
Good news on the exercise front: the official weigh-in was this morning, and I did actually lose 2 pounds of fat last week, and it should be even easier with the new toy (can I get a HELL YEAH!?! Both for the weight loss, and NOT wearing a fucking French Maid outfit!). Also, my running form seems to be improving... thanks to all who offered up suggestions! The not quite so good news: my legs got pretty fatigued before I got winded, and I only burned a little over 200 calories in 20 minutes or so. Still, moving in the right direction.
And now, time for Hell's Kitchen, followed by an attempt at expressing my gratitude for the gift. >:)
