The next 24+ hours are going to be insane. And frankly, the last 2+ weeks haven't been a cake walk.
Today at work I have about... close to a week's worth of stuff to get done before I leave. Plus useless, asinine conference calls to take part in. I need to prep offers, prep candidates for offers, prep other people to schedule candidates for interviews, prep candidates for interviews, prep hiring teams for interviews, figure out who I've spoken with that needs to have a phone interview and make sure those happen, make sure no one that's been phone interviewed by managers slips through the cracks, prep my Sourcer for giving technical assessments while I'm gone... gah! I need to move on; writing this makes me want to stop posting and go do actual work.
On top of all of this work fun, I need to take the Taz Monster to her doggie day care place, which is near the recycling place so I'll get that taken care of. I'd *like* to go buy a new pair of Uggs that I've been eyeing for a few weeks since New England in November just seems like the right time and place for Uggs, but I'm not sure if I can squeeze that in. I should also probably eat. And pack.
We catch a red-eye tonight into Boston. But do we have time for fun and games and shenanigans with all the cool Boston peeps? No. We have to gather our luggage and rental car and head straight for NH to meet with the cake dude. Think "Ace of Cakes". :D
I'm not complaining about this part, mind you; it's going to be soooooooo fun... just hectic.
Once cake time is over, we head to the place where we're actually getting married. We're staying there the whole time we're in NH, which will be fun I think. Plus, to be honest it'll be somewhat economical; breakfast and dinner every day is included, and it's supposed to be the BEST food in that entire area. I think that'll be really nice.
We have more meetings with the wedding coordinator (who I'm thinking of firing, so that should be interesting), the person at the Manor who coordinates weddings, possibly the DJ, videographer, and... um, everyone else? And I need to try and find someone to do my hair on the big day. All of this in essentially 2 days because...
...on Thursday we have a dinner with all of the parents. They've never met. I don't think I'm nearly as nervous about this as, say, my mom. That fact sort of makes me nervous, lol. All the parents are varying degrees of cool, so I don't know how this could turn into anything other than a pleasant evening, but who the fuck knows.
More travelling on Friday, home on Sunday. *Hopefully* a quick-ish meet-up with Sweets while she's sharing our coast. I'm tired just thinking about work on Monday... how it's going to be after having been mostly absent that whole time and just the pace I've been having to maintain there. The worst thing with all this work stuff, is that I still haven't decided if I want to stay there. I'm really hoping that some distance and time away will help clarify things.
Have a great week. Think happy thoughts and please send energy my way - positive energy, yes, but just ENERGY! I'm going to need super Energizer Bunny power to keep going for the next few weeks! ;)
