I built a tower to heaven, but it only reached the sky

I might be getting a raise. Very exciting. A raise of %4.71428571-ish. Why? I HAVE NO IDEA. It may have something to do with the comment I made that "I don't need to work anymore now, because Renee has a good job."
I think that's called leverage. But we'll see whether this goes through. Either way, though, I won't be paid a tremendous amount at the very least because I don't work a full week.

Renee has acquired a bicycle, through nefarious means, and now we go on rides together. Both of our bikes are of the mountain variety, so they have the nice wide wheels and the straight handlebars with the textured grips and the shock absorbing seats and whatnot. Our personal preferences run counter to that type of bicycle, my own preference being the "racing" bikes, with the curved handlebars and thin wheel and extremely light frame, while Renee seems to favor the "cruiser" with the wide seat and wheel and simple... whatchamacallem. The mechanical moving bits.
I know people are going to ask me what I did this summer. There are many possible answers for this question, and I prefer the "Nothing." answer personally, despite the fact that it conveys one of several possible interpretations all of which alienate the person asking me. Alternatively, I could spin an epic tale to delight and entertain, though that takes more effort. Finally, I could tell them what I did. I'm not really comfortable with that one. I don't like people to know me better.
I'm pretty pleased about the bicycling. It's a good time. Wheelies would've been good too, but the bikes aren't bad. And switching vehicles with bikes is easier than switching cars.
