San Francisco, Day 2:
janeandsimple and I went on a tour of San Francisco with some blond surfer guy named Dylan in his van (seems appropriate for California). Along for the ride were Sarah, our hostel roomate from Germany, Tom and his teenage son, whose name I don't remember, from New Zealand, Tom, Steve and Chris, from England (they were just backpacking around the world for a year. There next stop was Fiji. Jealous!) and a girl from the U.K. whose name I also don't remember.
More San Francisco murals. This one is on a women's centre in The Mission.
The Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay as seen from Marin County.
Next, it was off to the
Aquarium of the Bay for more of one of mine and Louisa's favourite pastimes... taking pictures!
Louisa takes better pictures of jellyfish than I do. This one's hers.
Tropical fish are very photogenic. I took about 100 pictures in this aquarium.
Yup, more fish.
It's "an anenenenenome"!
Gross? Pretty? Vaguely disturbing? All of the above?
The neatest part of the Aquarium was their San Francisco Bay exhibits. The tanks were tunnel-shaped, so you could walk through them. Or, if you felt really lazy, take the moving sidewalk.
Sea lion insurgency at Pier 41. These guys just won't leave. Something else I learned while in California, sea lions smell gawdawful!
Yes, I know, I'm not looking at the camera, but it's honestly the only photo from the entire trip which has both Louisa and I in it.
Obligatory shot of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset.
