Hello, readers. This is my third LiveJournal entry. I am posting to inform you that I have, in fact, downloaded a "client." This will be useful for both writing entries and making what are called "LiveJournal cuts," where you can, as a matter of fact, make a link on your LiveJournal to even more of a LiveJournal entry. I, Joy, think that this is actually very wonderful. It will save space on my LiveJournal page, and any space-saving technology helps keep me organized. In fact, today I added "organization" to my list of interests on my User Info page!
Organization, a wonderful thing, is very important to me. I try to, in fact, inspire an interest in organization in my students by having them organize their notebooks!
There are five sections in my students' English class notebooks. Each section has its own divider, and each of these dividers is labeled. The labels found on these dividers are "Resources," "Language Mechanics," "Grammar," "Literature," and "Writing Assignments." Each section is color-coded, also. The Resource section is blue, the Language Mechanics section is pink, the Grammar section is yellow, the Literature section is white, and the Writing Assignments section does not, actually, have a color because it is a section for students' returned work. Unfortunately, one year I had a student with a sight problem. Because of this, my sections could not be color-coded, and it truly threw me and my students into confusion. Thankfully, there are no students on my team this year with severe eye problems, so my notebook sections are color-coded once more. Every quarter I have a day for "notebook checks," where I will take a quick look at every students' English notebook to make sure they are properly organized.
I hope very much that this "client" technology works.
Today, I graded some more papers. I got very far, actually. I have a few more, unfortunately, to do, but once I finish those I will go golfing as a reward. It feels very excellent, in fact, to golf after finishing grading papers. It does, actually, put me in a very peaceful mood. Also, tomorrow I am going to a Disney Collectors auction in Worcester. It will, I hope, be very fun, and I also hope to acquire some more Disney memorabilia. I remember when I was a girl, and my family went to Disney Land in California. That was on August 3rd, 1950, and I asked Mickey Mouse for his autograph. I still have the autograph book. In it can be found the signatures of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto, who were, and still are, my all-time favorite Disney characters.
