So, I haven't had much time to write because of the oncoming blizzard of papers that are finals. So, let's take a little step back in time shall we?
Bamboozle was: the shit. On Saturday I saw Armor for Sleep, Streetlight Manifesto, MSI, Less Than Jake, and MXPX. Punk time bitches.
Started out with A Love Like Pi, they were mad awesome. I bumped into Melissa and her friend in the crowd, she decided not to hang out at all during the weekend, probably because Bonnie decided not to go. Oh well.
The band that played before Streetlight Manifesto (Metro Station) was unbelievably fucking awful. People listen to that crap? I can't believe it was a main stage band. Ugh.
I hit up the pit for Streetlight and got beat up, in the good way. When a bunch of guys circled out to open the pit they leaned back a little far and the result was a pile of people that fell onto each other, I got stuck in it haha. I was on the ground reaching up for someone to help me, and this DOUCHEBAG just stands there and looks all confused as I'm reaching my hand up from the bottom of a pile of people. God, fucking kids these days. I also got knocked down and scraped up my knee a little bit. A girl the same size as me picked me up, I love cool people.
MSI was fucking hilarious and performed a great set. I wanted to stay for The Bravery, but I didn't want to 1. wait three hours to see them 2. fight through a giant crowd of people. Plus I was tired. I met up with Eric and his friend in one of the crowds and we hung out most of the day. Art and I were texting each other but were both a little too busy to meet up. Less Than Jake threw doughnuts into the crowd as they played, woo hoo! I was waiting for food for a half hour in line, this guy cuts in front of me to join the group of his friends in front of him and I was like "Are you fucking serious?! Did you seriously just cut in front of this line of people who have been waiting here a half hour?" No response. "Holy crap everyone! We have a special guest at Bamboozle today, the King of Douchebags!" Kid grabs his food and runs off. What a pussy.
Saturday night, Adam, Matt, Eric, Ledd, and Brandon came over. We played a bunch of Rock Band and drank some of the beers. Matt and Ledd left a little early, so the rest of us made the perfect band, all playing on expert of course. Then Eric and Brandon had to peace out so Adam crashed on the couch and I went to bed...this was like 3 am.
Sunday, Adam and I realized there was pretty much nothing we wanted to see until Bouncing Souls at 4.40 so we slept in a little, got some foods and such. I wore my PaRappa the Rapper shirt and had about 6 people comment and/or high five me for being awesome. We didn't have to pay for parking cuz we got there so late. Bouncing Souls rocked. I crowd surfed during Receiving End of Sirens which rocked so hard. I didn't realize they were breaking up? At least they said they weren't playing shows anymore, which makes me kind of sad.
Motion City was pretty good but the crowd was a little too bit this year for my taste, they brought a drum corp out to open their set. And they were freakin late coming out by like ten minutes. I have to laugh that Finch is no longer considered a main stage band. Their heyday is over I guess.
The of course the WHOLE reason I came to Bamboozle, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I met up with Mac in the crowd since we got there early to see them play (didn't even know he was there). Bosstones blew my mind, they were effing amazing. Mac saved me several times from people who were way too large to be crowd surfing, almost falling on my head. I got many awesome photos, which you can check out on my facebook. And of course, the crowning glory: crowd surfing when they played their last song, The Impression that I Get. There is nothing more exhilarating than being tossed up into the air and seeing nothing but a sea of bodies and hands beneath you. It's seriously one of the best feelings in the world.
As I ran out from behind the fence, I bumped into Dietz. He probably doesn't like me (according to Kevin he doesn't anyway, but that's his fault to begin with) but he was really nice to me anyway and chatted for a bit before he had to set up for Coheed & Cambria. Adam wanted to see them and he was my ride so I had to stick around. Mac and I rode the Gravitron 2 or three times because there was no one on line woo! It was awesome.
All in all, Bamboozle was pretty awesome. Now the only problem I have is too much beer in my fridge.
This past weekend I went to Cape May with my dad. Yeah it was a little rainy but it was still awesome. I like it when it's a little chilly out so I didn't really mind. We did a lot of the traditional things we do: eating at the Jackson Mt. Cafe and Uncle Bill's Pancake house, going to Sunset Beach for Cape May diamonds (and we actually watched the sun set on the beach), and of course the necessary visits to the Fudge Kitchen and Atlantic books :) I got soooo much candy this year. We stopped at the yarn shop too but I refrained from buying any yarn because I want to force myself to work on my ugly blanket (I am taking all of the ends of the skeins of yarn I have and I'm going to knit them into squares, and then have someone teach me how to crochet them together. It will be the ugliest blanket ever hahaha). We went to Wildwood for a couple hours since it isn't too far away and he totally schooled me in skeeball. I got to play some Spiderman 3 pinball (the machine was scary and vibrated like crazy), some Time Crisis 3 and DDR: SN. Too bad the friggin P2 pad was broken; I always forget that Ed's Funcade at the end of the boardwalk has the best machines. The last day we went to an antique shop that was freaking AWESOME and I got myself a Pac-Man mug :) I am such a huge nerd. I had to resist their large stock of Amazing Spiderman back issues. Looking back...why didn't I buy those?!
On the way home though the wind was a little crazy. 50-60 mph gusts pushing the car around a bit, it scared me. But we got home safe and it was all good.
I came home to a very pleasant surprise...some people are just..super amazing :)
Life is pretty awesome. Good friends, good times.
