Alrighty, bizniatches

Here's the scoop, ma peoples, extra short cuz this is the last thing I feel like doing right now:

Went to the opera(the first one of my LIFE). It was amazing. I saw La Traviata if anyone is familiar with the Lady of Camillas, it's the same thing only Verdi thought, "I'm gonna be freakin' awesome and put some positively stellar music to this beast!" And he did. If you still don't know what I'm talking about I'm sure you know this reference. You know in Pretty Woman when they got to the opera and Julia Roberts is all "oh i'm so sad"? She's watching La Traviata. It's fitting, though because the opera is about a high-class cortesan who falls in love. Not quite the same as the "hooker with a heart of gold" but along the same line. I cried. I tried not to, but there's this amazing part where the music is just so passionate and desperate and the guy has no idea that she's telling him to love her forever because she has to leave him and it's ssssoooo sad! OH! Moulin Rouge. Same thing. Except this is much better. I think, anyway. Although I know my dad would say the same thing about this opera as he did about Moulin Rouge, "God. She's taking a long time to die!" So sensitive, father.

What else did I promise to talk about? I don't know so if I forget anything just remind me and I'll make another entry. Uhhh....Oh yes, I'm not going to travel this reading week. I have no one to travel with and I've been everywhere I've wanted to go so...but to make up for not going anywhere I'm going to go see a ton of theatre. I have an extensive list that includes Strindberg's, A Dream Play, House of Bernarda Alba, a Mozart opera, a Mamet play with Patrick Stewart, Macbeth, Don Carlos(only because Derek Jacobi is in it and he has the most wonderful voice I have ever heard. His consonants are so crisp it's like I could eat them!). Then probably a few other shows. I know it's not possible for me to see all of these in one week and not all of them are playing right now, but I will see these shows before I go home, this much I promise you!

I think that's all. Peace out my chitlins
