So full, can't move...

Well, we're finished our Thanksgiving Dinner. My husband is an excellent cook (and I'm not being biased - yukonflower can attest to that!). And we have so many leftovers (orts, if you will - I love learning new words)!

This was our menu:
* Salad (which didn't get eaten, but at least made it out of the fridge this year...)
* Rolls
* Carrots
* Broccoli and Cauliflower (with cheese sauce)
* Zucchini
* Corn
* Ham with mustard/brown sugar glaze
* Turkey with stuffing and gravy (mmmmmmm!)

And yukonflower brought a Devil's Food Cake with Raspberry Cream Cheese filling. It was so delicious.

As of this morning we were expecting 10 people for dinner, but in the end we only had 8 (Nate cancelled and May-o no-showed... :( sad, but not really that surprising). I didn't stress and/or freak out once today. (Yay me!) I delegated chores to Brother (he and Other are washing the dishes right now!)

yukonflower came over early and spent the afternoon with us. We played Settlers and had fun finishing off the making of dinner. "Better make sure the ham's safe for consumption." *gobble* :)

I can't wait till Ray and I get a place of our own so that we can host a dinner for our friends. :)

Dinner wasn't quite as Traditional as many Thanksgivings I've been a part of, no saying of grace, no "I'm thankful for..." speeches.

...but I'm going to bore you all with my thankfulnesses.

** I'm thankful for my husband: my constant companion, source of comfort (sometimes frustration), and my soul mate.
** I'm thankful for my family: though they may stress me out at times, a more supportive family would be hard to find.
** I'm thankful for my friends: though we don't always talk as much as we should, know that you're in my thoughts all the time. Thank you all for all the support you've given me through the years.
** I'm thankful for having a roof over my head. Though my house may be small and cause me much stress, there are many out there who have it worse than I.
** I'm thankful for having food in my belly (delicious food, at that).
** I'm thankful for having the opportunity to work in a job that allows me vacation time (some places in the world don't get that...)
** I'm thankful for the chance to wake up every day knowing that I can go to work and be pretty sure that when I come home my house will still be there and my family will still be safe.
** I'm thankful for the freedom I have to express my beliefs, religious and otherwise.

That's all I can think of right now, but I think that's a fair list...

food!
