madison square garden, put it back on!!

So, my depression is going away. Post SMTOWN concert depression, that is, haha. I'm feeling better now. I was feeling quite horrible for a couple of days, but I think I'm healing now XDD

I've been trying to post (or at least finish) this fanaccount for some time now. This has been sitting in my notepad for like a week :p

Let's see. I was all prepared for this concert until I had some last minute panic attack. First, I got super concerned about our seats. We did get side stage and this is where I pictured we'd be sitting.. terrible angle right??

(tokyo dome)

Also I was worried that we booked the wrong (timing) bus. I was planning on getting to NY just enough time to get something to eat and basically not having to rush at all. But thanks to pluxie, who said she was taking a super early morning bus because of traffic, I began to rethink my choice haha.

I don't want to get to NY super early because we'd be roaming around and by the time we get to the actual concert we'd be tired. But fortunately, our timing was perfect. Our bus got there exactly as schedule, we even ate and chilled at the red stairs in Times Square. Got to see the SMTOWN and The Boys ad on the billboard. Sadly there were no Arashi ad sighting T__T

We got to the venue and there is already 2 very very long lines for the merchandise. We waited probably about half hour? Or more? Not too bad considering how horrible the line looked.

I bought a Yuri fan, fanlight, and the tshirt.

So this is what the view looked like from our seats.

The reality of the side angle was not too bad! It helps that MSG is nowhere as big as Tokyo Dome! This venue is REALLY small actually, considering how famous it is. I think the TD Banknorth venue is Boston is bigger...

The ads for SM worldwide audition was playing before the con starts. People were screaming already when SHINee and SJ appeared on screen. I didn't hear a lot of screams at all for SNSD though... the elfs (lol) even chanted the mr. simple fanchant everytime it was on the ad. Haha it was cute, really.

As you can see from the blue penlights.. lotsa SJ fans!

The first one to come out was f(x) and I definitely screamed a little too loud for that. I was just so excited that the concert was finally starting! (half hour late? typical :p)

f(x) sang Lachata which I think is my favorite song of them. Also,  I have no idea why everyone goes wild whenever Amber opens her mouth. I don't see it /shotttt.

Luna, on the other hand, is the one I like the most, I think. She proved she can dance and she can sing~ She hit all the high notes!

When SHINee appeared the crowd roared even louder. The girl behind us was hysterical. I kept looking at her group instead, it was so funny XD

They sang Replay and it was freakin aaaaawwsome <3333333 I mean, I love that song and I don't even like SHINee. It just sounds amazing live. One of the highlight for me :)

For some reason I decided that I like Jonghyun prior to the concert. I don't know WHY but I did. THEN during the concert I totally lost it. He dropped all the way down to the bottom of the list. Too much of a show-off. Somewhat-quoting a fanaccount I saw on tumblr "it was obvious that Jonghyun was in love with himself. but we like it." YES it was obvious, and no I personally don't like it hahaha. Hate me.

And Key (who was supposedly the bottom of the list originally) rose to the top XDDD I totally see it now. Why people like him. In SHINee, he sort of owns the stage.

Onew is adorable, Taemin was cute too but way too girly for me :pp and Minho I think is the best looking of them all.. but I barely felt his stage presence..

Then, 3 of Super Junior came out and sang what I thought was a toned-down Sorry Sorry.  I was sort of disappointed because I really like the original and thought that it'd be better if they played that to get the crowd hyped up instead of this slow R&B remix XDDDD /fail.

Turned out it was Sorry Sorry Answer.. only now after watching fancams do I LOOVE it. Even more than Sorry Sorry itself. They sound fantastic. And omg I would've loved it and appreciate this performance so so much more had I known about this song. Also super fun when I try to sing the chorus by myself XDDDD

Of course though, there'll always be songs that you won't like until after seeing a perf of it and this was definitely one of them. I knew there'd be something I loved after seeing it lived.

With SJ, I have no idea who's who or even how many members they had XDDD But upon watching their No Other MV, I thought Kyuhun was pretty cute (only learned his name). But after seeing him live with that horrible haircut..

(lol, sorry!)

I-- still like him, but not more as I thought I would. If that made any sense. He does sing really well and get a lot of singing parts I notice. Camera was so HD I can see how bad his skin looked ^^;;

...but there was someone I noticed. Yesung :D The trio that sang this beautiful song. I don't know, just something about him... plus he does really sing well, too~

All of SNSD FINALLY came out after a few more performances and they sang Run Devil Run.

I don't remember which came first. Their introduction or Oh! But the intro was so funny because Seohyun forgot her english
Seohyun: I'm so honored to be.. I'm so honored to BE..
Tiffany/audience: here.

XDD It was so cute. Then Tiffany told us that she's been practicing a lot and asked us to give her a round of applause.

The girls branched out after being in the main stage and I noticed Yuri was totally excited. She was so cute jumping around making that Korean heart sign XD

Yay, glad somebody captured it!

My camera didn't capture it at the right time ;~;

I was surprised the sang Oh! so early in the concert. This was the one song where I was so excited to chant for.

There weren't a lot of SONES I thought. At least not on our section. Definitely a lot of SJ and SHINee fans with all the blue penlights.

So me and a_monchan were so lonely chanting during Oh. We didn't even do the names chant. Just the OH OH OH OH and AH AH AH AH and of course the last chant. I messed up the "sarang hae yo. so nyuh shi dae." and just chanted so nyuh shi dae TWICE instead haha

The girl in front of me kept looking at us because we were pretty much the only ones chanting the whole "jigeumeun so nyuh shi dae appareudo so nyuh shi dae..." on our section XDDDD

The guys a row behind us seemed to like SNSD but they weren't really chanting much :\

The girls also sang HaHaHa which was such a pleasant surprise :D

They all were so pretty though~~ I notice Hyoyeon's hair was golden. And I mean that in every sense of the word haha. When she was bouncing around it's like I was watching hair commercial. No, really I love her hair.

Sunny's new wig/hair however.. I'm not too crazy about it. I think I like her better with the long hair :D is this an unpopular opinion??

Anyway.

When BoA came out, I thought she looked A LOT like Tiffany (with a hint of Krystal) I've never seen her before or heard any of her songs.. but you can definitely see why she's huge. She definitely has stage presence and she was fierce.

These two people in front of us were like her biggest fans. The guy was dancing his HEART out whenever she perfrormed. BoA looked at our section and noticed them because they were holding a sign and he freaked out "OMG SHE SAW US!!!1" it was the funniest thing. I think I enjoyed looking at them fanboy/girling than watching BoA herself ^^;;

Genie performance was loove~ Definitely my favorite song. They sang the remix version they always do for concerts. The beginning sort of failed though. They were supposed to rise up from under the stage. But the stage was really low that they had to crouch down while waiting to sing..

(I... don't remember anything much now anymore, just relying on the playlist and see what I remember from each performance. Been writing this in the span of 2-3 days XDDD)

Okay, so SJ finally sang Sorry Sorry and it was great. Yess.

Although nowhere as awesome as when they did Mr Perfect. I am so in love with that song now. Before, I definitely dislike it and liked Sorry Sorry waay more. But it's the total opposite now. Mr Perfect was easily one of the highlight for me <333 LOVE IT.

Oh, Ring Ding Dong was the same way. It was such a weird WEIRD song. But I really loved the performance :p

AND THEEEEN SNSD SANG THE BOYS!

I was quite possibly looking forward to this the most. Just as I was recording the first view seconds of it, my camera died DDDDDDDDDD:

But yes, it sounds freakin awesome live. And they all were so pretty. And seeing them dance to this live is really amazing.

By this time I wasn't feeling too well. Suddenly it has gotten very cold. And I got a massive headache. Probably from everyone's screaming, including my own, and I didn't get enough sleep. My eras were definitely deaf too. I wouldn't mind so much but it was so annoying how they all sounded like chipmunks halfway through the concert XD;

Anyway, the next highlight for me was definitely the dance battle. I was definitely looking forward for the dancers of SNSD.. not too excited about the boys dancers though :p

As expected Yuri was ;lajsfd during this. I'm so happy she gained the weight back. Though not as full, but daymn, girl definitely has curves in all the right places. She was so energetic and was practically skipping when she made her entrance. SO CUTE MY BIAS.

Yoona is super duper skinny. You know how she wears that cropped shirt during the dance? Well, I could totally see her ribs when she put her hands up. Of course that's while looking at the screen. But looking at her with my own eyes when she was walking up and down the stage... she was obviously so so so skinny.

Then after some time.. there's a voice from the heaven ...

"DONG BANG SHINKI."

Everyone went NUTS.

All sorts of red penlights that weren't lit before suddenly appeared.

Two guys rose up from the ground.

They finally bring out DBSK.

These two people were like GODS. Everyone adored them. Everyone loved them. They could do no wrong.

You see, I had no idea who even makes up DBSK. I had been wondering for some time if maybe they came out and performed already but I just didn't know it was them. Then THIS happened and it all made sense to me.

Then they sang a whole bunch of song that I had no idea about.. but I guess I received some of the crowds energy, because I was excited seeing them, too. Although I did sit for some of their songs XD; (also for Kangta and some of SHINee actually lol. I was sort of sick okaaay)

Yes they definitely came veryyy late into the concert. You can tell they were saving them up and let them sing a medley.

The concert was pretty much ending when the artists sang their greatest hit.

SHINee sang Lucifer.. pretty good performance. I got used to the song and was looking forward for this, but it didn't blew me away like Replay did.

SNSD sang Gee. Cue me chanting GEE GEE GEE GEE!!

...aaaaand it was definitely over when they all came out wearing the pink SMTOWN shirt. There was a lot of interactions everywhere I didn't know where to look. The confettis made it even harder for us to look around lol.

I noticed Taeyeon grabbed something from the floor (apparently a green stuffed pea plushie?)

They were all over the place maan. Some of the girls gathered on the main stage.. I saw Tiffany stepped out of her group to pick up a knocked over bottle of water on the side of the stage. Haha. She was so SO prettyy~~

Out of SNSD I'd say Sooyoung gave us the most attention <33 She was so nice, she kept looking at our section and make that heart sign and was waving around. And then I think Seohyun also came and I don't remember who else D: Maybe Yuri did too because I remember thinking of grabbing my Yuri fan to wave to her but by the time I wanted to reach for it she was walking away T_T

Sooyoung stayed longer and definitely saw us (up on our section at least). SOOO NIIIIIICE. I just kept waving my pink glowstick like there's no tomorrow.

There's also this one SJ member who was hanging out right in front of our section. He kept waving too. I have no idea who but he was so nice ;~;

Oh, some parts I left out:
There's this fan in the GA section who had her camera taken by an SJ (or was it SHINee?!) member and he took a close up selca and gave it to her right back. Omg how dead was she.
Also two of the members was wearing this americanflag-y towel-like thing scarf around their neck and threw it to the audience. Lucky fans.

As soon as all the artists said and waved their good byes and went backstage I was feeling pretty empty.

"Now what?"

I was so sooo sad. I refused to believe it was over lol. All that anticipation for daaaayss and just like that it was over.

But I'm very glad I got to go.

I had sooo much fun. I came for SNSD but I enjoyed everyone's performances. I would definitely go to another SMTOWN NY (or better yet, Boston :p) and getting a closer seat next time.

Maybe SNSD will even come to promote their album.. in which case I'll definitely get floor seats :D

I can't help but hate the kpop fandom though the whole time. LOLOL not hate, just envy. I mean, these idols aren't too unreachable, at all. I only got into SNSD not too long ago and here I am already having the experience of seeing them LIVE.

You can take their pictures, fancams, hence make GIFs of fancams. They have concerts here in the US, and even free ones (that one in NJ?)

...meanwhile my poor Arashi fandom T___T I couldn't even catch their commercial in Times Square. Will there ever be a time I be hysterical like that girl who screamed her heart out when SHINee came out? Johnny's need to follow suit dammit!! ...but perhaps I will rant about this on a whole seperate entry.

I'll resume my real life now. Wait, I have been doing that already T_T

kpop, concert
