Timbaland is Saving Popular Music
I've gotten into the bad habit lately of letting Much Music play in the background when nothing's on TV and I'm just sitting around typing code. I've noticed that everytime I catch myself bobbing my head and saying to myself "hey, this is pretty hot", and look up from my computer I see THAT guy. Either in the video, or his name in the credits.
Having looked up his discography, the artists he's been behind include the late Aaliyah, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtato, Jay-Z. Missy Elliot, Snoop Dog, Beck, Rihanna, etc etc etc
Want to know why that goddamn Umbrella song is so catchy? Blame THAT guy! Catch yourself secretly (or not so secretly) singing Justin Timberlake songs to yourself? Blame THAT guy! Hate yourself for actually liking that Missy Elliot and/or Lil Kim song? Blame THAT guy!
Hmm... saving popular music, or just propagating everything that's wrong with popular music? Well you know what? If I have to choose between another whiny, self-righteous emo band, or a fun, up-beat electronic-infused, hip-hop flavored, sassy pop beat, I'll take the latter.
