Find out which telemarketer is calling you
I got a call on my phone just now from (866) 253-6957. Likely a telemarketing call, and I don't want to answer it. So I decided to Google the number to see if I could find out who it is. Sure enough, I was able to find others complaining about constant calls from that particular number. Turns out it's Rogers. I have no idea what Rogers wants from me considering I have ALL their goddamn services already, but regardless I didn't feel bad not answering after figuring out who it was.
My search led me to a site called whocalled.us. It's an online directory of numbers telemarketers call from and what they're hawking. I looked up the aforementioned number and sure enough, it's in their database.
I also found out that if you call that number back, you get an automated service that lets you add yourself to the "do not call" list. If anyone else is sick of having Rogers call them, dial up that number and add yourself to the list. It's automated, so you don't have to wrestle with any thick Indian accents either!
