Update at last...
Hey all...
Christmas break has gone fairly well so far.
I worked the first week after I came home. I am currently employed by Enviro-chem Laboratories in Hunt Valley. Kerry worked there for a bit as well.
Xmas festivities went very well. I was very happy to have Kerry come visit for a while in the evening on Christmas. She gets major brownie points for that one. Unfortunately I had to devote some of my time to packing for my impending vacation.
At 3 AM on December 26th, my dad and brother and I were driving to Florida. About 20 hours later, we arrived at my aunt and uncle's house in Ft. Myers. I got to spend time with my family and relatives, fished a whole bunch, and canoed/kayaked/photographed quite a bit.
Some Highlights:
-Wildlife Sightings: 3 Painted Buntings, Several Limpkins, Manatees, Ducks en masse, lots of wood storks, a few sandhill cranes, lots of roseatte spoonbills, and some armadillos. Also hundreds of alligators and one 11 ft crocodile. Thats just a sample of all the critters I saw.
-Fishing Report: I caught...snook, mangrove snapper, gafftopsail catfish, hardhead catfish, oyster toadfish, pinfish, sheepshead (~3lb), jack crevalle, ladyfish, spotted sunfish and tilapia. Also of note: We caught and released a jewfish (ok ok goliath grouper) in our crab pot.
-Quite a few good pix
-SLEEP AND RELAXATION (I'd forgotten what those felt like)
-I did spend a lot of time missing the girlfriend though.
We got home friday night. I left early Saturday morning to go visit Kerry. I am either in love or insane or both. There was mandarin cake waiting for me whan I arrived. That made Dave very happy. Overall it was a very nice visit, but too too short. As it stands right now I wont see Kerry for about 3 weeks. Thats rough. We'll see if I make it that long. There is a chance Ill succomb and make the 6 hour round trip drive before I go back to school.
I'm thinking about working in Alaska this summer as a fisheries tech. I am working on the application currently...Lemme know what you guys think. (Kenny...have you applied yet??)
