Foreshadowing
I was just watching Episode eight of Season two of Skins and I’ve only ever watched that episode once before. But I got tears in my eyes up at a scene between Jal and Chris and not the obvious one. It was this one:
“You’ll get in and then you’ll probably move in with some fucking music student called Terry, from East Anglia who blows the fucking trombone and then you’ll sit up through the night discussing your blowing techniques and then you’ll blow him and I fucking love you. Yeah you’ll move in with him and then I could be like dying, yeah and you wouldn’t even know about it.”
I bolded that bit in particular because that’s what made me gasp because Chris was trying to tell her He is dying, which is foreshadowing and she didn’t catch on, of course why would she but that just broke my heart a little bit. Is there anything you’ve noticed in any of the generations about a scene that you didn’t catch on to the first time you watched it? And also afterwards did something made sense because of it foreshadowing something that happened later on in the series?
