I think the issue can be largely summed up as: "Eek those dudes might stare at my wiener in the shower!"

You really think so? My impression has been (maybe wrongly) that the regular soldiers don't care very much, except in specific cases, and that the resistance really comes from the military executive.

It makes me sad either way. :(
