I think word war days/weekends are always amazing for getting words down :)

Word wars?! I must say I've never come across that before, though maybe I have but don't realise it. Care to explain?! It sounds fun though! :D

They are basically just certain time frames that people get together and see how many words they can write. They can take place over weekends or three day periods and there is usually 24-hour check in's and prizes (v-gifts or banners) for the people who write the most words. Or they can also take place in chat rooms with members challenging each other over 30minute periods too.

hd_writers is in the middle of one at the moment if you want to see.

Usually there are tiers you can get to - like 2k, 5k, 8k or over 10k

Ooh, that's great! I do that on a small scale with tromana, well setting a goal and a time limit. It's something we'll look into and hopefully will implement!
