You're in love with one of your friends, how do you deal? I just stay friends with them. I'm actually in this situation and have been for the past 3 years. I am in love with one of my best friends, and I've told him, he doesn't like me that way, and we're still amazing friends. It could turn into something more, but I doubt it.
What would cause you to break a friendship with someone? If they do something I don't agree with or if we just drift apart.
