They don't seem to be particularly interesting books (classic novels for school and other boring, basic books, as expected from the Mayfield library), but he's stumbling over to the checkout counter with them none the less

My appearance is a bit uncommon back where I'm from, so I had to learn to ignore the stares and brush off the questions.

Ah. Well, I can't say for the other residents who have consciousness, but the drones do not react, and to be honest, many of the residents here are not quite what one might consider 'normal', so you should be just fine.
