DON'T PANIC
Saw The Hitch Hiker's Guide on Tuesday night with Danny. I'm not quite sure what to make of the movie. There were good bits but the rest was kind of blah. First of all it is based on the first book and not on all four (contrary to a review I heard on radio by someone from the Movie Network - they obviously don't know their stuff *insert surprise here*). I think the actors were really well cast, despite protests that it should've been an all english cast, but they didn't have much to do with their roles. Sam Rockwell is totally wasted and Zooey borders on grating/annoying. Mos Def is cool and thatguyfromTheOffice is SO Arthur Dent. I think the problem with the movie is the plot - or lack thereof. There is no sense of action or movement at all and when it finishes it's like "oh so that was the climax?". I think they spent too much time on getting the little things right but totally forgot about having a decent story.
