I was puttering about the apartment, considering my dilemma of being bored and hungry, with no one to hang out with and no desire to comb my hair and go out looking like anything less than a savage. Then I noticed that I had plenty of flour, and odds and ends, so I made up bread recipies!

One sweet, one savory, both AWESOME!


Orange-mango bread:
1 package frozen mangoes, thawed and smooshed (I need my own cookbook, bad)
1 cup sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup orange juice
1/3 cup Triple Sec
1 cup water
2 tablespoons salted butter

Anchovy bread!:
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 package active dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
a shitton of pepper
a squeeze or two each of oregano and garlic paste
splash of olive oil
five anchovies, pressed dry and minced

There's really no rhyme or reason to my cooking. I just throw things in a bowl or pan and see what happens. Usually 350 degrees is a safe bet for baking.

Anyway, tomorrow I think I'll make french toast with the sweet one. Mmm.
