what can i do to make my nails stronger/grow better (they always break) ?

I think I've gotten a professional manicure maybe three times in my life (two of which were for family members' weddings). When I get the urge for some nail pampering, I like to do my own at-home manicure/pedicures--it's cheap, it's simple, and it's fun!
To keep my nails strong and healthy, I first of all take a daily multivitamin, plus evening primrose oil capsules. And of course, a healthy diet is key! For a topcoat, I prefer SpaRitual Nail Lacquer Topcoat, a long-lasting topcoat that contains special polymers to protect and buff the nails. I also like SpaRitual Impeccable Protective Polish Shield, which gives me healthy, strong nails and lasting, chip-free color.
On my toes right now, I'm rocking some clear glitter polish. Can't remember the brand at the moment, but I love it because it doesn't chip or require a lot of maintenance. Plus, I love looking down and seeing glittery toes when I'm doing yoga. :)
So, what do you do to keep your nails healthy and "indestructible"? What's your preferred top coat? AND what's on your toes right now!?
