I Know You Don't Know What Life Is Really Worth...

Back to work tomorrow. I took a week of holidays. People normally go, "What? Only a week?" I like to space my holidays out throughout the year. It paces down time instead of taking them all at one or two intervals. Too bad the weather was chillier than normal and has been for a few weeks now. :( My intention was to do very little this week and I sure did succeed at that! I wanted to do some cleaning...but I only did a very, very minimal amount, definitely not nearly as much as I planned. Oh well. I wasn't in the headspace for it and I accept that.

I had a lovely massage and oracle card reading on Tuesday. While the card reading didn't give me the answers I was looking for, it did help to shed some light on a situation which was needed. After that, I had lunch with my friend Jen at Boon.

I had ordered this adorable dress from ModCloth recently. The instructions say to iron on low. The collar was very crinkly when it arrived so I ironed the chest fine, but when I started ironing the collar, it MELTED! :-O I was devastated considering I didn't even get to wear it. ModCloth's customer service is amazing though. They shipped me out a new dress immediately (it didn't take long to arrive at all as they sent it UPS as opposed to mail), told me to just keep the damaged one and dispose as desired, and gave me a coupon code. Amazing! So, since it was just the collar that was damaged, I asked my crafty, seamstress extraordinaire friend Amanda if she could replace the collar for me. I wanted it to be leopard print, but I couldn't find any nice leopard print at Fabricland. It was either chiffon or grey-black print. I did, however, find a cute blue Halloween fabric on sale that has gnarled trees, bats, and tombstones on it so I chose that one. Amanda whipped me up a new collar on Thursday and voila!

Amazeballs!

Two dresses for the price of one. Can't go wrong with a sweet deal like that.

I met up with 3 friends at the farmers' market yesterday which was lovely. One of them has an adorable little boy who is 4. He has long shaggy hair and wanted to wear a dress. So cute! Afterward, however, I started not feeling well. My stomach was quite sore and after a few hours, a fever kicked in. One of those ones where you can feel temperature with your eyeballs. Ugh. I took a bath, had some oil of oregano, tea, cucumber as it would cool from the inside out, and some blueberries. About 8 hours later, the fever broke. I'm still having some abdominal and back pain now. Very odd. At least I don't feel sick-sick though.
