Turn And Face The Strange...

For the last month or so, I've been using just a plain ol' blackberry as mascara (link is to the tutorial). I noticed my eyes were starting to get sensitive (feeling dry, irritated) to regular mascara so I switched over. I was very happy with using just a blackberry for the most part. My eyes didn't get irritated, I didn't have to scrub my eyes at the end of the day, I could fall asleep with the blackberry juice still on my eyes without waking up to bloodshot eyes, etc. However, I found my eyelashes kind of clumped together despite trying to separate them when they were drying. So, when I heard about 100% Pure mascara, which is made with all natural ingredients, I thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered mine from eBay to be more cost efficient (price plus shipping from 100% Pure's site is outrageous) and I went with Blackberry (there are four colours to choose from). The mascara arrived yesterday and I tried it for the first time today.

I'd like to point out that since I've stopped using regular mascara, my eyelashes are insanely thicker now. I have so many more eyelashes, I have fewer shedding lashes, they seem longer, and I have little bitty ones growing to make them even thicker. Amazing!

So far, I am loving this mascara. When I opened it up, I immediately smelled all the delicious fruitiness lurking inside (not that I care if my eyelashes smell yummy or not). As for application, it goes on nicely and I think my eyelashes look amazing. Because they're so thick now, they look a bit like falsies. *lol* 100% Pure mascara is so close to being vegan except they use honey beeswax. I'm willing to compromise on this point because vegan mascaras I've found are not close to being natural. I completely understand that not every vegan would agree with me, but I'd rather compromise with using natural products over chemicals on my eyes.

I definitely recommend 100% Pure mascara. We should all be moving away from chemically filled cosmetics as much as possible. I'll probably order more 100% Pure make-up products in the future to try, though I'd order again from eBay.
