13th book of 2012 complete. A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore.
Likelihood of me recommending this book to anyone (out of 5) - a big 5! This is the second book by Christopher Moore I've read (the first being Bite Me: A Love Story) and I absolutely love his style of writing. Both books take place in San Francisco and there is some crossover character reference which is nice but it's not necessary to understand either story so don't think you need to read both. I've described this story to people in a brief way as: It's a story of a guy who stumbles upon a Grim Reaper role and hilarity ensues. For a story based on a topic that makes a lot of people uncomfortable (death), the author managed to find that fine balance of treating it with humour and respect. Bonus points for mythological references. I definitely intend to read more of Christopher Moore's novels.
