I feel like I've sinned... I've gone back to "traditional" deodorant/antiperspirant. *le sigh* Totally did not want to. However, maybe it's this time of year with wearing warmer clothes and such, but I was one smelly bastard, dudes. The kicker is that I'm not really one for sweating (nor was I damp in the pits) so it's strange. I would have to reapply my natural deodorant every couple of hours, maybe even sooner than that, and my clothes would end up smelly. So, for the sake of everyone around me and so I wouldn't be self-conscious anymore, I got the mainstream stuff. Oh well. I've ordered a natural deodorant from Etsy so I'll give that a go when it comes in. It may be if I use that AND a natural deodorant powder, or even
straight up baking soda, then I won't have the smelly problem. I'll keep you posted on Armpit Gate 2012.
So! Week 2 at new job complete and I still LOVE it! I love the challenges of learning new things. I love applying what I've been learning via distance education to my job. I love coming up with new ideas for activities with our clients (I go back and forth between calling them "clients" and "ladies") and their children. Heck, I even love hearing the kids in school every morning or seeing one of my favourite toddlers roaming around! There are a few programs available to staff to help with stresses that come with the job such as compassion fatigue counselling and art therapy. I think this is so cool and something more jobs should have for their staff. When I was told about compassion fatigue counselling, I immediately thought about the law firm I was previously at. I would say every law firm that deals with family law absolutely needs compassion fatigue counselling available to their staff, from the lawyers to the support staff. Anyway, we also have social activities amongst the staff such as potlucks (there was one the day I got there for Chinese New Year and we're having one for Valentine's Day), secret Santa/Valentine, we're doing a Valentine's Day raffle for gift cards to Tony Roma's and Bath & Body Works, etc. I feel comfortable with all the staff members I've met, though I can't always remember everyone's names yet *lol*, which is always nice.
