FUCKING FUCK FUCK!!!! So much for Starscream being fixed! Went for a scoot today as Poe is out of food and it started acting up. I headed toward my sister's place because at least if it stalled, it could stall there and not in the middle of fucking Pembina Hwy. Just as I pulled into their driveway, it stalled out. And it was hemorrhaging gas ( Read more... )

Wow. Sounds a lot like what happened with my old Shit-Box Firefly. I had a leak in the gas line, so whenever I'd fill up with gas a whole bunch would spill out onto the ground. I took it to a place near my mum's, and asked if they could fix it. They charged me $75, and said they soldered it all up, but not to fill up with gas for at least two to three days to "let it set". Seriously? It's solder. Melted and cooled metal. Gasoline shouldn't affect that after what, maybe half an hour to give it time to cool?

Anyway, next time I fill up the car, sure enough it's pissing all over the ground. Not wanting to bother with those assholes, I took it to a friend of the family (who I should have taken it to in the first place), who proceeds to tell me...
1) It looks like the job was done by a monkey on crack
2) The job should never have been done with solder, but a new gas pipe, which he could do for about $50 instead of the $75 for solder and oxy-acetylene that the other place charged.

Auto garages are scum.

GAH!!! No wonder people hate mechanics so much. We shouldn't have to get friends or family members double check the work; it should be done right in the first place! There are just so few people nowadays who are interested in quality work as opposed to quick fixes that end up fucking people over worse.

Mechanics and tradespeople that work on houses... I'd totally vouch for a lawyer over those bastards. :P
That blows about Starscream, I hope everything gets fixed up nicely ASAP!

Supposedly the part will be in "any day now" and they will then deliver it to me so I can get my brother in-law, ya know, the guy who's been competent about this whole thing unlike the dealership's mechanics, to install it. Then, let's all cross our fingers, things should run smoothly. Hopefully.
