Hello, I'm a Mac...

So none of our data was able to be recovered from the PC. :( That sucks as we had a little video of when we moved into the house on there, all the pics of the dogs, pics of Eli, etc. I have some pics on Facebook at least but they're not print quality. We should also have pics from like '03 to early '07 on my PC that we were using previously. Still...

After being let down by PC one too many times, we went ahead and got a Mac, an iMac to be exact. They cost way more than PCs but we've heard so many good things about them amongst our friends who have Macs. That to me says a lot because I can honestly say I haven't heard nearly as many good things about PCs amongst our friends. It seems people who have Macs love them while people with PCs are more like, "Well...it gets the job done."

We first went to Future Shop on Pembina and, wow, what a gong show. We were quickly reminded why we didn't want to go there ever again. Saturday is, presumably, their busy day so they had 2 staff members per customer on the floor. Think anyone would offer to help us even though we stood in from of an iMac looking totally lost? NOPE! Not one fucking staff member came up to us. Sure, they had time to stand around and flirt with one another, or a group of them could stand 5 feet from us all hanging out and laughing, but no one had time to, oh, I don't know, DO THEIR JOB! Andrew and I decided to leave after I said, "No one seems to want to do their job or get the commission." As we walked past the group of them, I asked (loudly), "Excuse me? Can anyone help me?" They all looked at each other to see who would do what they're paid to do and one guy finally did. All I asked him was if they had the iMac we were looking at in stock. He said yes and we left to go to Best Buy.

Best Buy has, by far, better customer service. The Macs had their own sort of kiosk by the PCs and there was a lovely woman there who, as she said, works for Apple, not Best Buy. She was extremely helpful and we went ahead with the (ouch) purchase.

So far, I'm going to go on a limb and say that I might be falling in love with the iMac. Yes, there's a learning curve considering I haven't used Mac since high school but still. The iMac is too charming to resist. :) I am bummed out, however, to find that apparently Photo Booth isn't on here considering it's supposed to come with Snow Leopard. There's a pretty good little camera built into this computer and I'd like to use Photo Booth to try it out. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know. Found it! :D
