there will be a latecomer: pairings suggestions please

scrabble TSH general question on pairings. 22 game tourney. due to flight problems, one player will miss first 6 games. there is a standby. but the standby would make the total an odd number, 33. would this be a good solution: the standby sits out today so no one else needs to. then both the standby and the latecomer start with 0-6 with some minus spread tomorrow AM, to continue event with 34 players?
