A part of Hänschen would always hate Ilse. She was too wild, too pretty, too stubborn and bossy and hysterical -too much of a girl.

But another part of Hänschen wanted that. He wanted a girl. He wanted a girl that couldn't be broken. maybe so he could break her. Maybe so she could have her way with him. Maybe because for once he wanted to feel wild and messy and naughty and all that, with a girl.

Yes. With Ilse.

He followed her as she led him, to the workshop where she worked.
