So Ive seen 2 movies this past weekend that i would highly reccomend anyone reading this see.

Pan's Labrynth - Spainish movie that has possibly the best extremes of reality mixed with extremes of fantasy with nearly no middle ground... and its simple beautiful.

Children of Men - Only movie to nearly bring me to tears with no music used whatsoever (well not in the parts im talking about) Its just full of long cuts of scenes with lots going on (mainly the 8 minute tracking scene with real building tumbling down and people doing so much stuff... it was amazing).

Oh and I might as well talk about the David Lynch movie I saw a couple of weeks ago while im at it

INLAND EMPIRE - Most confusing movie ive ever seen in my life... and it just makes me want to buy it and watch it many more times to figure it out (had like an hour conversation about it with my mom in the car on the way back), and surprisingly it was a movie about sex (as far as I can tell its about the effects of rape on a persons mind) but had nearly no sex scenes in it. Blew away my expectation of it.

Looking back I can honestly say that the 2 movies Ive seen so far that I waited years for (The Fountain and INLAND EMPIRE) did not dissapoint me at all and somehow recently the movie industry has been moving more into the art side and away from the just ... Hollywood side (although the hollywood ones still comprise a good 95% of the movies that make it to theaters).

Outside of movies...

Drums have gotten a little more natural to me. I no longer have that self concious thing about playing with other people around either. Now I just need to get together with Dan and do some more stuff and finish the song were on now... or get mics so I can record.
