OH MY GOD how perfect is this??? God, there's something wrong with me, but I absolutely *melt* at the idea of John buying Cam a motorcycle. It's extravagant and ridiculous but for some reason it strikes me as perfectly John to be over-the-top about presents. Like, he's not very good at articulating how he feels so he lets actions (in the form of omg *motorcycle*) speak for him. Oh bless.

I have to laugh at Cam breaking in a new scientist, and finally realising what Jack had to deal with in breaking in Daniel. *g* And I love, love, love the hints of Sam and John being friendly and exchanging emails too. One of my favourite things about Season 4 was Sam and John's working relationship, and I definitely see them becoming more like friends after Sam's back on earth. Awesome fic.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I wrote it. Even after the events of the previous Christmas, I don't see John becoming the Great Emoter, but I do think he'd try to find other ways to demonstrate his feelings.

I love the email format & the fact that it's one-sided. Makes the reader guess what John's saying.
But, drats, I'm still searching for that blasted "8th day of Christmas" gift. Must've been the gate address to the Furlings homeworld, eh?

Aw - I love how *normal* they are in this (bizarre missions notwithstanding), with the arguing about gifts and family, and Cam nudging John towards being more involved with his brother.

I originally started writing this for sg1_jubilee--hence the focus on preparing for Christmas--but didn't like it well enough to use it for that, so I wrote the other and turned this one into a sequel instead.

I thought it would be more fun to let everyone imagine what John was saying. Though the structure--since they can only exchange email once a week and so take two weeks to respond to anything the other has said--is possibly a bit confusing in spots.
