madrigal weekend
Hey All,
I can't believe how close christmas break is, I can almost taste it. I just cannot wait to get home and see all my friends again and what not. But I must say Juniata is keeping me very entertained as usual, so I can't complain. My week went pretty well and well as the weekend. Could have done without this cold that I developed last sunday.
Friday- After my only class that day, biology, I went back to the room did some work until lunch. Met up with the group for lunch, made plans with Glo to go to Giant later on. At 1 had an appointment with Maloney so I could get my rough draft back and ask her questions if I needed to. That meeting went quickly and I was out of there by 1:20. Went and got Glo from here room and we went to the grocery store. After that Glo was going to meet Brosi and then Brosi was going to show her the special kiln at the pottery shop thats burning right now. I tagged along because I wanted to see this kiln and if it could amount to all the hype and it sure did. Its awesome how its built and how it functions and how crazy hot it gets.We came at the perfect moment because the two teachers had just opened the front door to the kiln so we could the clay pieces firing and everything. They then sealed the door with bricks and this is how hot the kiln was. One of the bricks didn't fit so well so the teacher just had to rub the brick against the kiln walls alittle and it just turned to mush..it was incredible. So after that we went own ways until dinner. After dinner I went with Brosi back to her room where the usual crowd was. We ended up calling Russo and Me, Brosi, Warren, Ashley, Suzanna, Jamie, Russo and Andrew played some Scategories. After playing Russo suggested going to see Ocean's 12 so Warren, Andrew, Russo, Jamie and me went to go see it..along with the rest of the school. It was pretty crowded but we got in just fine. The movie was pretty good..I still like the first a lot better but the second is still worth going to see. Came back after the movie, went quickly again to the pot shop, then went back to the room. Then while I was watching some tv I get a call from Glo's cell with her roomie Amanda on the line..she was crrrazzy haha, but it was funny as all hell. Finally Glo came on the phone and we just talked a bit..then I decided I'd come over and help her with her unruly roomie. Went over the for maybe an hour and just chilled and watched some tv. Went to sleep...
Saturday- Woke up, took a shower, got an IM from Russo saying we'd all meet for lunch at muddy at 12. Went to lunch, then after lunch it was time for me and Brosi's roadtrip to Altoona. We left at around 1 and I dont' know what time we made it there..but we made it there. We first hit up KMart and it was sooo crowded but whatever we were able to find what we needed and I'm not mentioning what we got because two certain people might read this journal and then the surprise would get ruining...so onward...after KMART we hit up Targe (insert french accent thingy over the 'e') and after that we went on our way to the Salvation Army store because Brosi insisted we go there. On the way we noticed the the Krispy Kream light just happened to be on, so we just couldn't pass up the oppurtunity for free donuts so we got some. Went to Salvation Army got some stuff there and then after that a 4 hours shopping in Altoona we called it quits and went on home. We got back, wrapped some gifts and made plans for dinner. Me, Brosi and Tom ended up going to OIP for some dinner and it was good. After that we quickly went to Weis to get some food and drink for our "after anti-madrigal party" We got sparkling cider, cheese, grapes, thin wheats, and then Brosi really really really wanted to try some non-alcoholic beer so she decided to buy some...this is where it gets funny...we go scan our stuff and the last thing we scan is the non-alcoholic and all of a sudden the screen says "Age Restricted Product...please wait for cashier assistance" We just started cracking up because we had no idea you needed to be 21 to buy non-alcohlic..so the lady comes asks us if Brosi had id we say no and that we didn't know we had to be 21..no biggie really..we just took that off the receipt and went on our way. Came back to the dorms and everyone was all dressed up for Madrigal. Brosi and I originally weren't going to go at all but we got coaxed into going. I worked on my CWS paper for an hour before 10 when the dance would be starting and I really didn't feel in the mood to go, but Brosi came down like she said she would and we basically said we'd go for an hour just to say we had gone. Got changed, went..no one that we knew was really there and they only showed up later but it was still all good. When Glo showed up thats when I think I started having the most fun. We danced alot, found some soccer girls, danced with them. I basically ended up staying the entire time..and it was a lot of fun. At 1am the dance ended and Glo wanted to watch Elf so we went back to her room, she changed and we got the movie. Warren, Andrew and Amanda came along as well. We went up to see if Brosi was around and she ended up coming down along with Russo and Jamie. Some guy named Ritz came over as well and then Tom showed up also. We watched the movie, part way thru Jamie, Russo and Tom left but the rest of us stayed and finished it. Once the movie ended Brosi left and Amanda, Warren, Andrew and Glo slept over.
Sun- Woke up at 11:30, we all went to brunch. Now my day will consist of doing work work and more work...so let me get going on that work..later
