I think what you said is totally fine, but don't let her suck you in to her little game here. My dad is kind of this way when it comes to planning and organizing, too, and when he gets too abrasive, I just say "thanks for the advice" and let it go. Otherwise, he wins! You will do whatever you really want anyway, right? You sound like you will fight for what you want. Just make her feel listened to, and she'll back off (crossing fingers).

I'm getting better at saying, "We'll think about it." But, somehow subtle innuendos (sp?) don't seem to get picked up on her end.

In no way did you sounds snooty. They way you started the email was great--and I can't believe you took the time to address every issue--good for you! You are trying and that's a big step! But remember it is your wedding!

Thanks, gals. I am so worried about burning a bridge here. I hope that things were direct enough for her to figure out that I am serious.
