I've watch five episodes of Skins in one day. And I guess it's safe to say that I really am hooked now. xD It's so much fun! And I actually feel attached to the characters, something that I find lacking when I watch other shows. Like Heroes for example. I've lost my interest in that mostly because I've lost interest in the characters. The only characters I give any hoot about there is Peter and Hiro.
But Skins! I am in love with the characters, seriously. What do I have to say about the characters so far?
Tony - I can't help but think that he's playing everyone like puppets. Sid in particular, poor guy. I'd give him a slap. And ramble about how Nick Hoult really is playing an Artemis-like character. He's like ... he's got everything, just that he's got a mean streak. And I know this is random, but I'm impressed by his typing when he was writing out the first bit of the report for Sid. Haha.
Sid - Oh, dear darling Sid. He's such a nice guy! But really clueless. Most of the time he reminds me of this little puppy following everyone around. I mean, he keeps doing what Tony tells him to, and he helped Chris sell his hi-fi ... And I just have to say: Sid/Cassie all the way! :D
Michelle - Hmmm. I actually thinks she's pretty OK. Maybe because I felt sorry for her throughout the whole thing, what with Tony looking at her as a form of amusement more than anything else. I'm still a bit confused about what happened in the end of Sid's episode.
Cassie - "Oh wow.". That's what she keeps saying. And that's what I have to say about her. She's so adorably sweet, and I can't help but want to reach into the computer screen and give her a big fat hug. It's a shame that nobody seems to see her, really. She's almost invisible, from what I see.
Jal - She's cool. I like how she's like the group's very own mother hen. She's not very hen-like, though ... but I didn't expect to like her this much. I thought that she'd be like every other 'feisty girl' character out there, and I'm glad to say that she's got depth and an actual personality.
Maxxie - All I have to say here is ... OMGSOOOOKIYOOOT. :DDD And he's got such lovely horns. "F*ck it, be bad!" -giggles-
Chris - He's crazy, I tell you. And he's naked a lot. And I mean A LOT. But when I got further into his episode, I felt that his story is the saddest. First with his mum leaving him all alone, then that little incident with his dad's wife and then us finding out that his brother is dead. And his fish! What the hell did he do to his fish!
Anwar - I'd give him a tight slap and my Islamic Studies text book. >_< Silly boy! I think he's OK, but I haven't seen too much of him, so I can't tell. You're not supposed to stop in the middle of prayers and talk to people, duh! And as for his girl-obsession ... I'll just repeat what Jal said to him. "You're supposed to respect women's bodies, Muslim-boy."
My favourite scene has got to be where everyone's climbing out the window and running away half-naked when Michelle's mum comes home and finds them there. xD And I'm oddly paranoid of people getting run over by buses in this series. Huh. One last random statement ... what's up with Tony and Chris' fish?
On another note, I've bought CHERUB: Man vs Beast by Robert Muchamore. I wanted to buy Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, but I've been waiting for CHERUB longer. On the other hand, if I waited to borrow Twilight, there's a long waiting list. There are only three or four people in my school's morning session who have the book, and all of them have long waiting lists. I'm the seventh person in one of the lists. Guh.
