Chiefs & Bugs

Tomorrow is the last day of our workweek. Man time is flying by here. Won’t be long and I will be putting money away for airline tickets home. But first I have to get a couple new toys. Scanner and printer are first and foremost. I have decided to keep playing with the camera I have here now, and later bring my Nikon back with me. I want to see what I can produce with this little range finder. Yashica GSN Electro to be exact. It has super glass and is really quick. I might break my bank this weekend and pick up and couple filters. Make my black and whites look like real black and whites.

I feel certain that I will see someone get very hurt at work before I leave. The RSAF Chiefs don’t give a flip about safety. Some of the stuff that takes place here is insane. All us trainers do the same things when they step in and get crazy…we walk away. It is hard to teach the trainees to do things the safe way when their bosses tell them to ignore it for their own benefit. Oh well, I won’t be the one to get splattered all over the floor.

A past moment: My son, Joshua, and I were walking down the street about a year and a half ago. He was fourteen then. I looked over to see there was a bug on his baseball cap. I reached over and knocked it off. He looked at me and asked what I was doing?
“There was a bug on your hat.”
“Really? What did it look like?”
“Well,” I replied, “it was black.”
“Yeah?” He was in deep interest.
“It had some brown.”
“Yeah” he said again. I had his full attention.
So I held my hands out about a foot apart and said, “and it had a goober about this big!”
He never missed a beat and said, “Yeah, I’ve heard about those Joshua bugs.” Man did I loose it…hehehe.

Cheers
