a bit dated (one year old) examination of insomniatic culture. Hypocriticly, I tuned in tonight for a discussion of recent advances in nano-tech. Don't worry bout me though...

If you don't like it, don't listen to it. If there's nothing to the claims made on the show, and if the listeners are mostly cast-offs and kooks, then there's nothing to worry about. Are you a closet control freak,and/or a herd animal who is uncomfortable with any non mainstream reporting? Your vocabulary screams pseudo-intellectual elitism, which someone as brilliant as you should perceive as playing right into the hands of the so-called "kook contingent", a perjorative used by the right and left when they can't refute the claims made,so resort to name calling.

you make some fair criticisms here. i'd love to debate your comments, but in the past i have found that those leaving anonymous comments are more interested in espousing their own opinion rather than having a critical discussion. do me a favor, and prove my prejudice wrong by engaging me

I just don't like signing in. As a matter of fact, since Noory took over,I haven't been tuning in for more than a few minutes a week, and lately they've been discussing stuff that's a bit much, even for me. Heinlein was the best sci-fi author for time travel, but he brought up the paradox that, if you could go back to fix something, it's fixed today, so there's no reason to go back. The gloom and doom predictions are plausible, but many have not come to pass( thank God ) I miss Art and the UFO stuff, some guests sounded plausible, and I can't dismiss everything they said just because I've never seen an "object" and don't stay up hoping to see one. Mostly, lighten up on the broad brush for the audience, they're not all that bad. Jim Berkland has an interesting theory about earthquake prediction which sounds good to me, especially when the de-bunkers wheigh in with their snobby comments. I am more inclined to dismiss the de-bunkers because of their smart-aleck attitude, not for any points they make.
