He's not going to notice her, deeply absorbed in his book. Feel free to say something and freak him out largely!

It's going to take her a moment, before she dares, and when she does, she'll just clear her throat discreetly.

He almost jumps, and that's definitely a sharp intake of breath, one hand lifting with the start of a spell on his lips. He bites it off and smooths his expression, changing the twitch into a standing motion and shutting the book.

"Good day, Messire." She curtsies. "Forgive my interruption, sir."

Eyes averted. Phedre is twitchy too, almost fearful.

"It is no trouble at all, Madame." Quickly. "I am sorry if I disturbed you."

"I should have been more friendly, in truth, but thank you." A small smile. "Felix. Will you call me Phedre in turn, then?"

"If you will, Madame Phedre." A touch of that charming smile.

"Phedre only, if you please." She bats pretty eyelashes in return.

He does smile a bit more. "Phedre, then." He crosses the room to her with his long, loping stride and offers a hand.

She extends her own, not sure if it's for a handshake or a baisemain, but ready to adapt.

He takes it and lifts it to his lips and kisses it, not quite lightly, eyes still on her.
