Long car trips mean lots of drawing time.
We'll get the huge thing out of the way first. I think I meant to try to computer-color this or something. Very very quick, sitting-in-front-of-the-computer pen scribble of Lola, the main character of a German movie called Lola Rennt, or Run Lola Run. She has bright red hair.
Drew this while sitting in the admissions office at Macalester College because we got to our tour about two hours early.
My dad bought me this set of pencils: a nice drawing pencil, five colored pencils in black, white, a yellowish grey, a brown, and a red, and some kind of pencil-stick things. There are six pencil-stick things, in three red-browns, yellow, grey-green, and dark blue. Not what I would have picked, but I'm very grateful to Dad, nonetheless, since the drawing pencil is nice.
So, in the car on the way back to my grandparents' house, I was experimenting with the very limited color range to see what I could do.
Skin tones didn't go so great on Rinoa, but I got better. Of course, my next drawing was Elfe.
I like Elfe.
And then an Elena portrait, trying to pass the time.
Then, at some point, I was listening to the songs that will eventually become my Sears x Elfe FST and remembered that Sears, y'know, dies. So I had morbid fun time! In which I (again) accidentally ended up drawing a strip-type-thing without drawing any panels. Yay spontaneous sequential things.
I don't actually know how Sears dies, since I don't know enough Japanese to figure out all the scripts, so I've got to wait for people to translate them. But still, morbid funtime.
