International Sculpture Conference
went to cincinnati. left thursday morning and came back that saturday evening. the conference itself wasnt fun at all, i think there was only one panel session lecture i enjoyed. thursday we went and seen the solway gallery and the studio b gallery. the solway gallery was okay but it was all the sculpture ive seen from the sculpture magazines. now the studio b gallery on the other hand was fantabulous! it was a mix of student artists and local artists. there was one piece i absolutely loved! it was clear film canisters hanging with lights inside and inside each film thing was a picture, like a memory. so youre walking through about 200 of these canisters and its as if your life is rushing past your eyes. it was amazing. saturday we left from cinci. we stopped by the contemporary arts center and that place was incredible. they had a few pieces i really enjoyed. i got a shirt from their gift shop because it was grey and looked nice. i need shirts other than black shirts. =/
saturday evening when i got back into town i met up with ryan* and he drove to evansville, IN for a show he was playing. the show was awesome. it was in a little hole-in-the-wall place but out of all the shows ive seen them play i enjoyed this one the most. things are going really well for his band. im getting ready to do their website. hopefully i can turn out something good.
im more than likely going to be in a show august 12. an art show. went to the meeting yesterday to look at the space and meet the other artists that are going to do the show. its called "saturate". its four shows based on earth, wind, fire,and water. this show is the water one and the show before was inhale...about air. i set a goal for myself to be in 5 shows by the end of the year. i should be able to accomplish that i think.
been doing alot of chores around the house lately to help out mom. she needs a little extra help every now and then because i know how tiring house work can be. =/ still looking for apartments. there might be a prospect i found but i still have to check it out. every other apt. wants you to make a certain income...which i dont make a whole whole lot but ryan and i combined make well what rent would be. speaking of incomes...i get my big fat bonus check tonight. hoorah! dont know what to spend it on. a computer because i dont have one and ill need one, a used car just in case..., deposit and security for apt. rent, or things for an apt. like microwaves, toasters, etc. i dont know. so confused >.<
going to have a lazy day with ryan today. hes actually catching some shut eye right now because i visited him this morning and we had a sunrise picnic. he made a triple decker ham sandwich, chips, banana, and crackers and a drink for us and we sat outside on my car talking and watching the sunrise. cute i know. theres this one picture of us that is incredibly cute. it was taken at the dope show when they opened for them.
i think im going to do the dishes and clean/feed abbey. maybe by that time ill wake up ryan with little kisses. =)
*missed ryan super bunches while i was gone. it was the first time since we had been dating that i hadnt seen him everyday. spoiled, i know. i thought about him all the time and when i actually got to see him on saturday i was the happiest girl in the world. i had butterflies when he came up to hug me. =)
