A/N: This is in response to a kink meme prompt and it just kept going from there.
John Watson considered himself a practical man and made no attempt to correct others of thinking the same. He wasn’t a man of means; firstly, being a doctor and second, an army veteran. He worked part-time at a small clinic and the rest of the time chasing after one Sherlock Holmes. Sometimes it superseded his job at the clinic, much to his employer’s chagrin.
There was nothing obviously special about John, no one remarked how overly handsome he was, nor tall, nor abnormal. He was just a normal bloke in London with a crazy flatmate. He was a footnote in the brilliance of Sherlock Holmes and that’s how he liked it.
You see, John Watson didn’t like attracting attention to himself and was quite content to let Sherlock take the limelight. It was good because John had a very big secret.
