For those of you who don't know, February is Black History Month here in the United States. Although I am a Caucasian woman, I am eternally grateful to the amazing pioneers who helped gain tolerance here in my country. I am happy that I live in a world where I'm able to hang out with my friends who are Jamaican, Haitian, Swahili. I am happy that my friend's son, Noah, was born into a world where his parents - a white mother and a black father - are accepted and can openly love each other. I love living in a world where the color of our skin doesn't matter, but the color of a baby's eyes when they first open does. And I know racism isn't gone here in the U.S. or the world, but we're definitely living in a better place then, say, our parents and our grand parents. And tomorrow is only looking brighter then ever before.
