(no subject)
so i got up this morning with the intention of switching out my spark plugs to see if my engine would run better. when i went to change them, there was oil where the spark plugs were, so i figured that was bad and decided to try to drive to the mechanic, which is about half a mile down the road. well i got halfway there, and there was this loud thud and my engine stopped. i coasted into a gas station parking lot and tried to turn it over, but it was gone. so i called casi, she came and got me and we went over to the mechanic. one of the guys came back to the car with us and checked it out. it was completely out of oil it was leaking so bad. then he was like "ah, your timing belt's broken." but he said he'd seen 3 or 4 other cars have the same thing happen and they didn't have any engine damage, so he had me optimistic. well they towed it to their place and said they'd call me when they checked it out.
well the timing belt didn't actually break. something else went wrong with it though because the last guy that did it (before i bought it) didn't do something right. so my engine is completely shot, and thus, so is my car. they quoted me for putting in a new engine, and it came to $2900. I paid $2950 for my car two and a half years ago. but i don't want to lose my car, i love my car! i can't imagine myself driving in anything but it... well except for cars that i can't afford at all right now.
so yeah, i don't know what to do. i miss my car.
