(no subject)
Apologies for yesterday's post! I was feeling a little mental. :3
To explain, I shall go back to 18th when I set off to Leicester with my SIDEKICK (<3) Stce, on our adventure to Midlands MCM Expo! I love this event, it's only one day and it's quite a trek but it's very relaxed in a.. expo-hype kind of way. It's more about seeing cosplay friends than debuting a new costume. I find it takes less stress to organise as well!
This event, I cosplayed Lily Evans (Harry Potter) in her Hogwarts uniform:-

I LOOOOVE this cosplay as it ties in with my current HP obsession. Lily is one of my favourite minor characters in the series (much like most of my favourite characters..) and especially throughout the Marauder Era. This costume is suposed to be the 1978 uniform, but finding grey school jumpers in the style I needed proved to be quite difficult. So I improvised and used a grey cardigan from H&M, adding the Gryffindor patch and trim. The skirt, I am rather proud to say is from a uniform website for sixteen year olds! (Yes, I am 23 and can squeeze my fully developed, child bearing hips into a skirt for teenagers.)
The wand I have in the picture is actually Hermoine Granger's wand which I bought from ebay. In hindsight, I should've probably gone with Ron's second wand as it is made from willow (the same as Lily's). But, it LIGHTS UP LIKE YOU'RE DOING A LUMOS SPELL. <3333 !!
Stce looked the cutest I have ever seen her in her Star Driver cosplay, her wig was bright pink with long bunchies atop of the head. She was ADORABLE and I spent much time taking photos of her along with everyone else.
The Bleach group were impressive as usual but I felt slightly sad that I hadn't brought Shinji instead as people kept refering to me as him anyway. xD;
It was an EXCELLENT day all round and was SOSO nice to see captainlora , Rach, Emmah, Magz, Shiv, Golffy, Emma and Simon again as I only see them about once a year due to distance. =[ Lora and I had our usual Potter-spaz and confused a lot of people with our Remus & Sirius inspired banter. I can't wait to continue our RP soon! :]
The weekend ended well, with a decision to go to Disney World in Orlando next October with Stce and her family. The price has given me a mild stroke and I'm going to have to do some immense saving. But! If I go, I'll get to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.. and I've read the brochure.. and I will quite possibly die if I don't go.
So anyway, I came back late on Sunday night and had to get up early for work on Monday. I didn't sleep very much and had faaaaar too much coffee throughout the day that I ended up being a bit of a mental case, hence my last journal entry. Safe to say I'm feeling better today and have been doing some much needed work.
I've fallen a bit behind with this and haven't browsed very much this week so...
I'm being bias as these are done by people I know personally and one was written for me. XD;
Which is another of my Lily cosplay taken by Stce! I'm showing off my excellent lumos spell. XD; She has edited it to get the effect of the light better and I LOVE it. <3
And secondly we have a fanfiction written by my lovely friend Sasha!
A Bad Moon by Rogue.Arcanis
This is a Sirius/Remus fic which only shows a window into their relationship but still reveals so much. I love this. The characterisation is fantastic, it's short and a little bittersweet.
So, I'm going to shut up now. But, I'm really looking foward to TRIBE OF FROG on Saturday, I feel like I haven't danced in so long! I feel like I've started the busy few months now and it's all go from here. :]
