"Up all night, sleep all day"

Ok, it's been awhile. I'm still looking for a new job, but I'm looking harder. wWe're throwing a huge birthday extravangaza for 4 people including myself (a flyer was made for it, but I have no scanner) and I got a haircut, so things aren't so bad. For Spring Break I traveled to Ensenada, Mexico with my girlfriend Lili. Fortunately she is fluent in Spanish because it helped out huge when getting around. Mexico kicks ass, mainly just because it's not The US and they're way into the 2x1 or 10x3 thing! We went to a local beach and spent far too much on food while we there.

Lili and I went out with another couple last week. It was kinda weird, like we were going out on a date or something. We went for sushi, and then went to a friggin insane karaoke bar in the rich part of Capitola. The scene was just strange. A fat psuedo-midget was dancing around in a party shirt and running up to people telling them to "get down"! A 40+ year old dude was making us laugh because he was playing with glow sticks in a shiny-metallic shirt in front of everyone. Drinks were expensive even though the alcohol was the plastic bottle type. Performances ranged from shitty to fuck-with-your-head mind-blowing! Some white guy with a huge beard and hippie-fro tore through a Ludacris song like it was nothing with the ultra-hefty Mexican DJ chick doing the girls part. Then the older guy with the glowsticks grabbed the mic. The monitor said that he was set up to do AC/DC "Dirty Deeds", so I figured that well at least it's a good song. When the first riff came in something changed in and it was like the guy channeled the fucking spirit of Bon Scott! He absolutely destroyed the place!! Voice, attitude, energy, and all the little dynamics were right on wrapped in an ugly metallic shirt. He was so wound up that when the lyrics would take a break he would just slap his head and stomp like he was the real thing. It was one of the best performances I've seen regardless of if he was actually in a band or not just for the suprise factor.

We met some friends at the local pub, threw darts, and then I blacked out from mixing too much sake, beer, shitty vodka, and more beer. It was one of those nights where I almost got into a fight with Joe and then made Lili go to the store to get pizza. We still had a good time though.
