Remember, Remember

Man, sometimes I really frickin’ miss being in Coexist and Redwinterdying. Weirdly, what got me missing it today was listening to Rocking Horse Winner’s first album. Every weekend, taking off and playing shows all around the southeast, those were good times. Even though the times with Blackburn were amazing, and the later days of my involvement with RWD were great, I guess my favorite time was the short period of time when both Ken and Mat were in the band. That’s when Jeff had only been in the band for a bit (EVUH!), and we were writing some of the greater tunes from that period of Coexist. Right after that is when Bradshaw and Miah joined, and those were good times on their own. That’s when out opus “even in july” was written, thanks to all the inspiration we had coming from everywhere back then.

Top 3 highlights from Coexist Era 1 (butcher, mat, blackburn, and me)
1. Our Indiana adventures and friends
2. Playing at the Indie-net with Minute 61
3. The great diarrhea dashboard story

(this pic is actually between era’s 1 and 2)

Top 3 from Coexist Era 2 (butcher, mat, ken, jeff, and me)
1. Playing Furnace Fest (Jeff cain telling Zao’s bassist he had no idea who Zao was; when Mat and I could’ve claimed a large sum of cash from the ground, but didn’t)
2. The Georgia/Chattanooga shows at the Solid Rock (how many times did we play there, like 90? Playing with Luti-Kriss, Beloved, and Cool Hand Luke)
3. Playing with Living Sacrifice at the Biker Church, everyone died.

Top 3 from Coexist Era 3 (butcher, bradshaw, miah, ken, jeff, and myself)
1. The iciest death of snow and frost in Hazard, KY when Miah nearly killed 2 or 3 guys in defense of the majestic owl).
2. All the shows we played at xUndergroundx in Decatur Alabama. (playing with old-school underoath, evergreen terrace; meeting Chad, the guy that ran Takehold Records; getting in HM, but only Miah’s hair; freezing to death with only the cigarette of warmth to keep me alive)
3. The mother-huckin big wheel down Ken’s hill. I never did that crap.

Top 3 from RWD Era 1 (butcher, mat, jeff, and me)
1. Writing some of the more well-known songs at the Biker Church practice space (scars of seven, etc..)
2. Small tour with Showdown and Rapture of the Meek from Maryville to Richmond VA (the show in Richmond was off the chain) (this may have been when Zach was in the band, but I can’t remember, I remember it being earlier)
3. Showing DeadtoFall how it was done.
(I don’t have any pics from this period, I did at one point, but I can’t find them, if you have some, send them my way)

Top 3 from RWD Era 2 (butcher, mat, jeff, zach, and me)
1. All the Java shows
2. The great battery Kentucky incident
3. Recording our last CD together, that was a pretty good time.

Anyway, that’s all I had to say on that.
I better get back to working on some homework love. I do not love, I despise.

Gears of War, Call of Duty 3, and Tony hawk project 8 are amazing games, and I recommend that you get them if you have a 360.
We got an HDTV a few weeks back, I also recommend one of these if you have a 360.

I’m going to wait in line Thursday/Friday for the PS3. Yea, I’m ebaying them. I’ve got one on reserve at Gamestop, and if I get one, that should be a healthy amount of money for Christmas, and paying off my credit card.

I love my wife a bunch, I miss her right now as well.

It’s cold as crap, so I’m gonna turn on the heater.

Word,

God bless,
Arthur

(the music I'm listening to is Rosie Thomas, it came with Windows XP, and is AMAZING)
